OctaneRender for Maya supports rendering simplified Paint Effects stroke used for nHair and other effects without the need to convert the hair to polygon meshes. In addition, any Octane shader can be used to render the hair. Figure 1 shows Maya hair rendered using Octane.

In order to use an OctaneRender material with Maya nHair, an Octane material needs to be added to the pfxHair' Transform node as shown in Figure 2. Figure 2 shows hair colored using an Octane material.
