X.IO scales servers based on a percentage of excess capacity we want to maintain in a given region. If the number of available streaming slots is less than our goal, we scale up. If we have excess, we scale down.
All servers are global and shared among all customers. This removes the complexity of dealing with scaling and managing your own pool of resources, and allows all our users to take advantage of our scale.
In the event you request a session and we don't have resources available, we will launch more. If that happens and you use our clients, you'll be presented with a message.
You can see the average stream wait time from the X.IO status page.
